JOHN CHARLES "JACK" HEGER, age 88, a resident of the Artman Home in Ambler and formerly of Willow Grove and Abington died on August 31, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Anna Mae (Tyler) Heger for 64 years. Born in Abington, Jack was the son of the late Albert Heger and the late Emma Boylan Heger. Jack graduated from Abington High School and later studied at Temple University and Penn State University from where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering in 1975. His entire professional career as a Manufacturing Engineer was spent with Fischer & Porter in Warminster. He retired in 1990 after 45 years of service. He was a member of The Society of Manufacturing Engineers. Jack was a long-time member of Abington Presbyterian Church, where he was a former usher and former Boy Scout Troop leader. He enjoyed fishing and golfing. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving children and their spouses: Susan and Ronald Miller, John T. and Debbie Heger and Richard and Susan Heger; by three grandchildren and by his brother, Daniel Heger. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank and Joseph and by his sister, Mary. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 13, 2014, Abington Presbyterian Church, Old York and Susquehanna Roads, Abington, where friends will be received after the service. Interment in the Memorial Garden of the church will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Abington Presbyterian Church, 1082 Old York Road, Abington, PA 19001 or to Benevolent Care Fund of Artman Home, 250 N. Bethlehem Pike Ambler, PA 19002.
