Jane Gilmour, of Ocean City, New Jersey, passed away March 31, 2014 after a long, brave battle with cancer. She was 61. Born in Abington, PA, Jane was the daughter of the late James Gilmour, Jr. and the late Dorothy Pepper Frater. She was preceded in death by her step-mother, Edith Gilmour. Jane was born in Abington, PA and lived in Chalfont, PA. Jane graduated from Central Bucks West High School and attended Bucks County Community College. Jane is survived by her loving step-father, Clifford Frater of Ventnor, NJ and her brothers, James Gilmour, III (Leland) of Chalfont, PA and Robert Gilmour (Nancy DeMeo) of Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Jane is also survived by her step-siblings, Edward Davidheiser (Debbie), Joan Green (John), Jay Frater (Shelley), Judy Frater and Leslie Price. Jane was the beloved aunt of her Gilmour nieces and nephews Andy (Elizabeth), Kate (Peter) and John (Shannon). Jane worked for Harrah's in Atlantic City for 34 years as a slot attendant and was a favorite among all her regular customers. Jane won many accolades and awards during her time at Harrah's including Volunteer of the Year for her working with local Women's Shelters. Her compassionate nature endeared her to all she met at work, in hospitals and clinics, and in life. Jane will be dearly missed by her family, friends and her beloved cat, Tucker. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 5, 2014, Helweg & Rowland Funeral Home, 1059 Old York Road, Abington, PA 19001, where friends will be received from 10:00 until the time of the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Jane may be made to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (bcrfcure.org)
