JOSEPH A. GALLAGHER, age 70, a long-time resident of Willow Grove died on November 9, 2013. He was the devoted husband of the late Linda I. Myers Gallagher, for 31 years, until her death in 2008. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Joseph was the son of the late Andrew Gallagher and the late Eleanor Hall Gallagher. He was also preceded in death by his siblings; Ronald Gallagher, Andrea "Bunny" Murphy, Joanne Imms and Judith Jones. After graduating from South Philadelphia High School in 1959, Joe served with the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1963. After returning from military service, Joe went to work with the Sealtest Dairy and had made home deliveries of milk. He later worked as a Machinist for SKF, a ball bearing manufacturing company. He worked with SKF until the company moved and Joe then found employment with PNC Bank, where he was a Mail Clerk. He retired from PNC in 2009. Joe was a movie buff and an avid sportsman; he especially enjoyed hunting and bowling. He is survived by his sisters, Gigi Burns and Ellen "EJ" Spencer and by many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 14, 2013, Helweg & Rowland Funeral Home, 1059 Old York Road, Abington, where relatives and friends will be received from 10:00 until the time of the service. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to PACT for Animals, c/o Buzz Miller, P.O. Box 590, Gladwyne, PA 19035. ( www.pactforanimals.org)
