Friday, December 21, 2018Shirley , Jackie , et al - a beautiful service and a beautiful family ! Sorry i couldn't accompany you all afterword but know this, Larry was our favorite " official " at CAA but more than that - a great friend. I loved our political discussions and one of the rare people who i didn't mind being outargued and outsmarted. Maybe because his intelligence was secondary to his smile, good will and his decent nature. He will be missed and can never be replaced. Hope all is well with everyone else.

Thursday, December 20, 2018Dear Shirley and family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. The passing of Larry will leave a void, but he provided a blueprint for electoral Democratic success - knock every door, which he did every single election he ran. Larry’s support of young people was well known. When he was a state representative, he provided important financial support for Cheltenham Achievers Network or CAN, CAN continues to provide academic support in combination with basketball for many students in Cheltenham. We will continue to keep you and your family in our prayers. Sincerely, Art and Julie Haywood

Thursday, December 20, 2018Hi, Shirley, I was saddened for you when I heard from Lauren Rooney that Larry had gone to his rest. I have so many wonderful memories of working with Larry in Harrisburg on Aging Committee issues, as we tried to make things better for seniors across Pennsylvania. He was always such a gentleman, and so devoted to you, his family and his people. Harrisburg was a better place for his being there. He brought a sense of dignity and purpose to his work there. It was an honor to work with him through the years. I'll keep you and Larry and your family in my prayers as you deal with your loss, especially in this holy season. Sincerely, Tim

Thursday, December 20, 2018I had the privilege of working for Representative Curry in his Harrisburg office in 2006 as his special assistant for House Resolution 177. I was always impressed by his vast knowledge of all things history, his deep commitment to education and to his dedicated service to others. I enjoyed many a conversation with him about history and the value of education. He was tenacious when advocating for his constituents and would oftentimes sit outside the Leader's door, waiting for extended periods of time, for an opportunity to speak to him on matters of importance. He was a true public servant in an arena of politicians. I shall remember him fondly. My deepest condolences to Mrs. Curry and family.

Wednesday, December 19, 2018Dear Shirley and family -- More than twenty years ago, when I first ran for Commissioner in the 6th Ward of Cheltenham, when I knocked on the door of the first house as I began canvassing, a steady hand supported my elbow to make sure that I knocked firmly and deliberately. It was Larry's hand and he was there after I finished at that house so he could say that I had done a good job and not to worry because it would get easier and better as time went by. He was right. Time has now gone by and Larry, a great mentor through all of those years, is gone...and so as of now it is not easier and better, but, Shirley, long my mentor as Larry was, be assured that it will get easier and better. Please accept the deepest sympathies of myself and Cappy.

Wednesday, December 19, 2018My condolence goes out to the Curry family. We have all lost someone who cared deeply for his family and community. I appreciated his wisdom and guidance during the time we shared on Borough Council. His life was one of service to his community and the gifts of his family continue to enrich the fabric of Jenkintown.

Wednesday, December 19, 2018Dearest Shirley and Family - I had the PRIVILEGE and HONOR of working with Larry during my 16 years on the Cheltenham School Board. Larry gained the respect of our Board members with his work ethic, his caring, his listening skills, and his attention to detail. If we had a problem, Larry delivered! He never had a closed door and was ALWAYS willing to work tirelessly for his constituents. I will miss the twinkle in his eye and his fine sense of humor. Howard and I (and our entire family) send condolences to you all. With a huge amount of LOVE and RESPECT, Emily and Howard Greenberg xoxo
