Please share a memory of Ross to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ross E. Ritter, 81, of Macungie passed away suddenly at home on August 19, 2018. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of Edward and Ethel Evans Ritter. He graduated from Abington High School in 1955 and from Lafayette College in 1961 with a BA in economics and a BS in mechanical engineering. In 1962, he partnered with his father to form Ritter Associates, a manufacturers' representative agency, where he worked for 30 years. He was the marketing manager of Corro Therm Special Coatings in Feasterville, PA, for 15 years before retiring. Ross was a member of Abington Presbyterian Church for 40 years, where he served as a deacon for 6 years. From 1996, he was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Allentown. He served on the Abington High School Scholarship Committee for 20 years. Ross was a lifelong model car collector and model railroad enthusiast. Ross will be dearly missed by his wife of 56 years, Carol, and their 3 children, Scott Ritter of Jamestown, NC; Susan Smerker of Wescosville, PA; and Sharon Ritter of San Diego, CA; and his sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Richard Stover. The joy of Ross's life was his 8 grandchildren: John, Matt, and Patrick Ritter; Ryan, Michael, and Laura Smerker; and Anne and Michael Ehart — all of whom lovingly called him "Poohbah." Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, Helweg & Rowland Funeral Home, 1059 Old York Road, Abington, where friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery.
