Mary Isabel Closson passed away on August 1, 2017 at Gwynedd Estates, Ambler. She will be missed for her vivacious nature and zest for life. Isabel was born February 23, 1932 in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, the youngest daughter of Nathan Roy Miller and Anna Buckingham. She lived her entire life in Montgomery and Bucks Counties. She graduated from Jenkintown High School in 1951 where she played field hockey and was a Blue Color Leader. She followed her mother into the nursing profession and graduated from Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing in 1954. She served a long career as a Registered Nurse, primarily at Abington Memorial Hospital's Maternity Ward, and in private practice with Dr. McDaniels of Jenkintown. Isabel was a devoted member of The Church of Our Saviour in Jenkintown for over sixty years. She was married to William J. G. Closson, and following his death was the longtime companion and fiancé of William Trost of Bucks County. Isabel was predeceased by her oldest son William Charles Closson of Jenkintown. She is survived by her youngest son Thomas Grant Closson of Jenkintown, and her middle son Robert Vail Closson and daughter in law Jennifer Closson of San Diego, and by grandchildren Nathan Vail Closson and Melissa Ann Closson of San Diego. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 26, 2017, The Church of Our Saviour, Old York and Homestead Roads, Jenkintown, where friends will be received after the service.
